DeFi: An Institutional Investor’s Perspective

Guest Speaker Cam Harvey

Wednesday, November 9th, 2022

12:00 pm to 1:30 pm EDT

Going beyond cryptocurrencies, join us for a fascinating, in-depth review of recent innovations in Decentralized Finance (DeFi), from an Institutional Investor perspective.

Our expert speaker is well-known Duke finance professor Cam Harvey, who in 2021 published his book “DeFi and the Future of Finance” with two practitioner co-authors, a survey of existing financial products using blockchain technology and their potential role in creating an improved financial system for people globally. One feature of such a new system is its decentralized nature using platforms which are globally available with few prerequisites.

The speaker will put broader DeFi innovations into the context of recent setbacks for cryptocurrencies, crypto exchanges and hedge funds specializing in crypto projects.

Cam Harvey, who has been teaching “Innovation and Cryptoventures” which focusses on blockchain technology and decentralized finance for 7 years, and has researched several aspects of the crypto-finance universe, will deliver his latest assessment of DeFi from an Institutional investor perspective. Afterwards we will provide an opportunity for participants to ask questions.

Both CQA and SQA audiences can register and participate in this event.
